How to Order Railing Glass
In-Stock Straight Panel Glass
eGlass Railing™ stocks straight panel glass in 18 widths, two heights (32.5” and 38.5”), and two thicknesses (1/4” and 3/8”) to fit any of our eGlass systems. These panels may also work with some Q-Railing systems*.
When you receive an estimate for an eGlass Railing™ system, it will list the glass panel sizes you need for your project. In addition, you will receive a CAD that will indicate where each panel size should fit into your railing system. Following the eGlass Railing™ installation instructions that come with your railing system, install the posts where indicated on the CAD drawing to ensure that the panels will fit correctly. This is especially important when installing a Vision system as there is less area for the clamps to securely hold the glass.
To use eGlass Railing™ stock glass for a Q-Railing system, be sure to keep in mind the 18 standard widths that are available and plan your post placement accordingly. Q-Railing does not provide instructions or CADs indicating where to place the posts for their systems. It is entirely up to the customer to determine post placement.
*Most of the Q-Railing glass clamps can hold 1/4” or 3/8” glass panels. Glass clamps work with Q-Railing post systems including: Q-Line, Square Line 40x40, and Square Line 60x30. Base shoe systems and standoff glass adapters require a minimum glass thickness of 1/2” and require custom glass panels.
Custom Angled Glass Panels
Stairs and ramps have angles that can vary by several degrees. Therefore, it is not possible for eGlass Railing™ to keep angled glass in stock. To meet our customers’ angled glass needs, we have a supplier that will custom cut angled glass panels for our customers.
Due to the custom nature of these panels, they are not returnable**. In addition, once an order for custom glass is submitted, it cannot be changed or cancelled. Therefore, it is very important to obtain exact measurements for these panels.
When you receive an estimate for an eGlass Railing™ system, it will list the glass panel sizes you need for your project. This will include estimated sizes for angled glass panels, but understand that these pre-installation estimates will not be perfect. Custom angled glass requires extremely precise measurements. Therefore, our general recommendation for ordering custom glass panels is to install the railing first, then take exact measurements of the areas where the glass will be installed and order the custom glass panels based on those exact measurements. This is especially important when installing a Vision system as there is less area for the clamps to securely hold the glass.
**In the case of custom glass that is damaged during shipment or incorrectly manufactured (outside of a finished glass tolerance of +/- 1/16”), a replacement panel will be provided. We cannot accept returns on custom glass that arrives in good condition and as specified in your order.
