Juliet Balcony Railing

Juliet balconies have long been popular in Europe and in cities where space is at a premium, like New York. In recent years, however, they have become more popular throughout North America. Traditional balconies often provide additional outdoor living space, making it seem that tiny Juliet balconies add little value to a home. This could not be further from the truth.

Juliet balconies come in a variety of styles, including some that create a shallow projection from the exterior of the building that may or may not be large enough to step out on. Many newer Juliet balconies involve a railing placed on the exterior of a building and have no projection at all. These railings are placed in front of sliding or inward-swinging double or single panel doors, which can be opened, letting light and air into a living space.

Juliet balcony railings at eGlass Railing™ come in a variety of sizes and can be customized to meet your specific railing needs. If you have a Juliet balcony that projects slightly from the building, we offer our standard railing systems in either deck or fascia mount. For Juliet balconies that are meant to be flush against the building, we have designed fascia mounted railings that work with single inward swinging doors, inward swinging French doors, and single or double sliding doors.

A choice of Element, Solid, or 820 Series top rails is offered for these fascia mounted systems. Tempered glass panels can be installed to allow for a better view and can block some breezes in windy areas, however, you can also order eGlass Railings Juliet balconies with pickets for a different look and to allow for better air flow.

For standard single or double door widths, we offer kits that include all of the components needed to install a Juliet balcony. If your project is outside the standard, we can customize a Juliet balcony railing for sliding doors, accordion doors, or any other project dimensions you may have.
